Served an apprenticeship in film & TV freelance crewing throughout the 1990's and worked professionally in all the areas of production, becoming a 3rd then a 1st Assistant Director.

Now a Director / Writer / Producer within UK's film & TV industry and works freelance and with his company 'MMG – Mandragora Media Group', whose offices are in Glasgow.

Directed a series 'Vids' for Channel 4 television, which earned Marc a BAFTA Award nomination as 'Best Director New Fiction 2001'.

Produced and directed film shorts including 'A Small Piece of Paradise' (TCM Classic Movie Prize Runner Up, London Film Festival Judges Recommendation and the first film to be placed for screening on the official Celtic Football Club website in 2001), 'Anatomy of a City' for Glasgow 1999, ‘The Last Noel’, a comic tale of a disillusioned Santa Claus screened at Palm Springs International Film Festival 2004 and 'Contorted Hazel', a short horror produced by Mandragora Productions Ltd./Scottish Screen.

Award winning theatre director - won the prestigious 'Edinburgh Fringe First Award 2003' for the play ‘Love,Sex & Cider’ and he directed the UK National Tour of the production in 2005, including the Lyceum theatre in Edinburgh and the Pleasance Theatre in London.

Overall producer for the Edinburgh International Film Festival Official Television in 2003 – 'EIFF TV'

Directed and produced the This Scotland commissioned documentary ‘Don’t Make Me Laugh’ for Scottish Television and also produced the New Found Land ‘Electric Blues’ for Scottish TV, Scottish Screen and Grampian that was featured in Edinburgh International Film Festival 2004

Directed 'Winning Streak' for Children's BBC for UK broadcast Christmas Eve 2005 and is currently screening at the Glasgow Film Theatre as part of a summer children’s film programme.

Marc has written several commissioned and produced drama screenplays (features, television and short formats).

Wrote and produced short films, one, 'Contorted Hazel', a short horror produced by Mandragora Productions Limited and Scottish Screen, has been screened internationally at festivals throughout 2006/7.

Taught freelance masterclasses on acting for camera at Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama 2000 - 2007.

Directed and produced the feature film 'Dark Nature' for which Marc won Best Director at HD Film Festival 2009 and earned a BAFTA NEW TALENT 2009 Best Director nomination.

Marc has worked as a mentor/consultant for the Institute for Digital Innovation ( for a number of years. He also served on various charitable boards including Edinburgh Mediabase, as well as being Chair of BECTU Scotland Freelance Division and is an executive director/board member on various organisations within education, charity and business.

In 2011 Marc's feature film script 'Contorted Hazel' was selected for the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum at the Edinburgh Film Festival.
